About Us

Janna Levi – Project Co-Director

Janna is an aspiring photographer from Houston, Texas and is the manager of In Spanish Translation Services based in New York City. She is a Northwestern University graduate with a B.S. in Human Development and Psychological Services and a minor in Integrated Arts. Janna has lived Prague and worked in Argentina as a Theatre teacher for an NGO helping children in underdeveloped areas of Buenos Aires.

Natalia Vasquez – Project Co-Director/Curator

Natalia is a Latin American visual artist and educator. She has been living in Prague since 2004 where she directed and curated PixelPops!Praha and participated in various underground exhibitions and residencies. In 2008, she held art workshops for children whose families had been displaced and were living in Ciudad Bolivar on the outskirts of Bogota, Colombia. She was also Artist-in-Residence at Popopstudios in the Bahamas. Natalia taught The History of Photography at Tiffin University in Prague and will teach Documentary Photography at Anglo-American University in the spring. In her artwork, she focuses on the psychological processes of healing and aims to provoke and initiate conversation about dangerously established societal norms.

Hana Jakrlova – Founder

Hana is an internationally renowned photographer originally from Brno in the Czech Republic and is now based in New York. She has organized and co-produced several photography projects, resulting in exhibitions and publications in books and magazines. These include Europeans, a documentation of the “new identity” of unified continent after the fall of Communism; In the Meantime: Europe, released in 2006 with a forward by former Czech president Vaclav Havel; and Big Sister: Satellite Love, documenting how the Internet has affected intimacy and privacy.

Sarah Martin - Director of Communications

Sarah Martin is a photographer and filmmaker based in North Carolina. Sarah spent time photographing and interviewing young Georgians during 2009 and 2010 and hopes to finish a video project within the year. Sarah has been teaching photography and filmmaking since 2003 and is currently teaching photography at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Sarah received her MFA in Photography from Yale University in 2002 and her BA in Media Arts from the University of Tennessee in 2000.
